Beacon’s new class 803 trains are running from London to Edinburgh for the first time today on Lumo, First Group’s new 100% electric, affordable rail service.
The first passenger journeys on this service will start on Monday (25 October). First Group aims to create more than 13 million additional passenger journeys in the next decade, encouraging more people to opt for greener, electric rail travel.
Beacon CEO, Adam Cunliffe, said:
“Railways offer a safe, sustainable and cost-effective means of transport now and in the future. Lumo is reinventing rail travel with a fresh and affordable offer. Beacon is delighted to support Lumo as they attract more customers to rail, from road and air.”
