In exciting news, Beacon has delivered a next generation Class 18 hybrid+ shunting locomotive to GB Railfreight (GBRf).
Manufactured by Clayton Equipment Ltd, the Class 18 is powered by an onboard battery, with charging through a three-phase electric supply, or via a regenerative braking system.
The Bo-Bo locomotive is also self-contained, with an onboard diesel engine which meets EU Stage V emissions standards.
We are enthusiastic about bringing this new class of much needed sustainable locomotives to the market.
